Privacy Policy

1. Our Approach to Privacy

Pomodoro Timer is designed to run entirely in your browser. We do not operate backend servers, databases, or user accounts of any kind.

This means your data — timer settings, theme preferences, task lists, daily pomodoro counts, and background choices — never leaves your device.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect no personal data. The app stores preferences locally using your browser's localStorage API. This includes: timer durations, theme mode (light/dark), selected background, language preference, daily pomodoro records, and task list entries.

We use Vercel Analytics to measure anonymous page views and visit counts. This service does not collect personally identifiable information and does not use cookies for tracking.

3. Local Storage & Caching

All application data is stored in your browser's localStorage under the "pomoclocks:" key namespace. You can view and delete this data at any time from the Stats page using the "Clear all data" button.

The app uses a Service Worker to cache application assets (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and icons) for offline use. This cache is stored in your browser's Cache Storage and is automatically updated when a new version of the app is deployed. You can clear it through your browser's site data settings.

No data is transmitted to external servers as part of normal application operation. The ambient sound generation runs locally via the Web Audio API.

4. Third-Party Services

Vercel Analytics: We use Vercel's privacy-focused analytics to measure anonymous page views and visit counts. This service does not use cookies, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking. All analytics data is aggregated and anonymized.

Self-Hosted Fonts: The Montserrat typeface is loaded from our own domain. No request is made to third-party font services when you use the app.

No advertising, affiliate, or tracking networks are present in this application.

5. Your Rights & Compliance

Since we collect no personal data, there are no personal data records to access, correct, or delete on our end. All your data is under your direct control in your browser's localStorage.

This privacy policy is designed to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you believe there is a compliance gap, please contact us.
